Abstract

This article aims to analyze political violence from the perspective of the intersectionality between gender and ethnicity, for which it has been considered to study the case of Eng. Diana Caiza, mayor of the city of Ambato in the period 2023-2027. This work delves into the qualitative methodology through a
semi-structured interview, which allowed us to identify the specific forms of political violence faced by
women and people belonging to minority ethnic groups, such as harassment, intimidation and abuse,
defamation, and misinformation. The importance of this research lies in its ability to understand the intersections between gender and ethnicity, address political violence, and promote practices that guarantee equality, inclusion, and promotion of human rights in the political sphere.
