The lack of interest in psychological assistance in women victims of gender violence who request administrative measures at the Cantonal Board for the Protection of Rights of Puerto Quito was the topic of our article, the objective of which was to identify the reasons why victims of gender violence. They request assistance tickets but do not attend psychological consultations. Its methodology was qualitative, and descriptive, using in-depth interviews as a tool and documentary analysis. Their results reflected that the problem is based on geographical and economic distance, reconciliation with the aggressor (dependency), and affinity with the professional. The interest in studying this problem is due to the high rate of gender violence to identify the weak factors that prevent the psychological care necessary to repair the damage and get out of the circle of violence.
