Cuba imports 84% of the food consumed in the country, which indicates that this country has lost the sovereignty and food security. The harvest of the period 2009-2010 was approximately 1 ‘200,000 tones, magnitude similar to the harvest reached the year 1905. In 1957 there were nearly 5 million head of cattle with a population of 7 million inhabitants, while today the country has a few 3 ‘870,000 head of cattle and the population has increased to 11 ‘200,000 inhabitants. All these data suggest that Cuba should implement reforms carried out in China, although a better example would be Vietnam.
