Abstract

One of the purposes of Philosophy is to propose reflection of a better life for human beings. This research contributes to Ethics as a philosophical discipline and it proposes the "ethos" baroque as an ethical category that benefits the elaboration of a political, social, and educational reflection for improving life conditions in Latin America. This research called "The "ethos" baroque in Higher Education. Hermeneutic study and prospective for Ethics at UTE" reflects on some aspects that would lead new reflection against the crisis of Modernity. The cultural history of the continent offers us categories that should be interpreted for the study of Latin America. The ethos baroque and the analogical hermeneutics are presented as valid tools for Philosophy. Taking an ethical position through critical thinking and “dialogueness” will permit the construction of an "ethos" in context. The research has applied a multidimensional, high reference and interpretive methodology that allows an easy and deep access. It permits a different comprehension of a new higher education for men and women.
